Hi everyone,
welcome back to our podcast.
I am so grateful that you're here. I just sent out an email newsletter
about this, but I've been reading the book Women Who Run with the Wolves
lately, and it has been such an amazing- this season,
not just personally, but in how I'm viewing the healing journeys.
So many of you are on as well. If you haven't already,
I haven't read it. This book is really about returning to the wild,
instinctual, intuitive self that so many women lose touch
with. It's a remembrance of the deep wisdom we carry in our bones.
The part of us that knows when to rest, when to move,
when to speak the truth. And when to shed the old layers that no
longer serve us. One message I want you to take from it today is
this. Nothing in nature blooms all year.
Your body, your psyche, your spirit move in cycles.
And if you're in a season like this, a that feels like the underworld,
quiet, uncomfortable, or uncertain,
it doesn't mean you're failing. It means something new is forming beneath you.
You're not broken. You're becoming. With that energy in mind,
today we're diving into some really thoughtful questions you all might submitted.
Everything from lip health and hormones to skin growth hormone and muscle
optimization. I know these topics are can sometimes feel overwhelming,
but I want this episode to feel like a nourishing grounded conversation.
We will connect the physical body. the nervous system,
and even the ancestral and energetic patterns that show up in our health.
So, grab a cup of tea. and let's get started.
Your first question today was, what are the root causes of cracked,
white, or dehydrated,
Your first question today was,
what are the root causes of cracked,
white, or dehydrated lips, be it beyond simple hydration?
So, lip, so,
lip symptoms might seem small,
but they actually tell us a lot about what's happening in our bodies.
When lips are cracked, dehydrated,
or even white in color, it's often a sign a reflection of systemic imbalances,
not just a lack of hydration.
Some key contributors include nutrient deficiency.
B vitamins, especially B2,
B3, and B12, are critical for skin and mucous membrane health.
Essential fatty acids include fatty acids like omega-3s also support hydration and elasticity.
When your body isn't absorbing or getting enough of these nutrients,
your lips will are often one of the first areas to show it.
Also, oral dysbiosis plays a role here,
and imbalance in the microbes in your mouth. can manifest as cracked or inflamed
lips. This is why lip health is often connected to overall gut and oral
health. On the same note,
digestive, On the same note,
digestive inflammation or gout, gut issues are really common here.
Conditions like IBS or leaky gut can interfere with nutrient absorption
and hydration, showing up, ,outwardly on your lips and your skin.
Also, stress and adrenal fatigue are important factors.
Chronic stress reduces, ,our body's ability to regulate hydration and maintain healthy
skin. So you may notice your lips dry out when you're feeling overwhelmed or
run down. Also,
just general lifestyle factors like mouth breathing,
frequent lip licking, exposure to harsh weather,
or even certain, oral products can contribute.
So, while drinking water is obviously important,
it's just one piece here. Supporting your digestion,
nutrient absorption, and nervous system,
along with lifestyle adjustments, can help bring your lips back to a hydrated,
healthy state. Thank you Think of your lips as a little early warning system
for your body. They often reveal imbalances before other symptoms show up.
Okay, next question was what are the causes of lipedema,
flabby skin, or the skinny,
fat body type, and how do you improve it without surgery?
Body composition issues like lipedema,
loose skin, or the skinny, fat prototype, you're going a combination
of hormonal imbalance, lymphatic congestion,
and chronic inflammation. In women,
testosterone plays a big role here too,
not just for reproductive health, but also for fat distribution,
water retention, and skin elasticity.
Addressing these patterns properly includes supporting hormone balance
naturally through diet, stress management,
and targeted supplements. like we're doing now,
encouraging lymphatic flow through gentle movement,
massage, or techniques like dry brushing.
Reducing systemic inflammation by optimizing gut health and addressing toxins like
parasites, mold, and yeast. And most importantly,
building muscle through resistance training to improve tone and
metabolic function. This piece only comes in once you've got it.
Once you've to a stable place where your thyroid and cortisol levels can handle
the additional stress load of strength training,
so don't rush understand that these changes take time.
Healing the internal environment often translates into noticeable external
changes over time. Okay, next topic suggestion was what
are your thoughts on the Ayurvedic diet.
Ayurveda can be a beautiful framework because it emphasizes seasonal eating,
digestion, and sleep. of food,
which many people find really That
being said, I usually recommend a more ancestral or individualized
approach, especially when there are underlying gut or systemic issues.
Traditional frameworks like Ayurveda or even some forms of traditional Chinese medicine
can sometimes miss deeper root causes like hidden gut dysbiosis,
underlying toxins, etc. malabsorption.
So the most important thing is to listen to your body,
honor ancestral or cultural wisdom if it resonates with and
focus on If you're already following a paleo.
If you're already following a paleo style of eating,
you're doing more than enough to support your body's nutrient needs.
Alright,
next topic suggestion was can you touch on gel or acrylic nails?
Are they toxic? The short answer is occasional use of gel or acrylic
nails is generally safe for most people,
but frequent exposure to the chemicals,
adhesives, and fumes can impact nail health,
increase toxin load, and sometimes trigger skin irritation.
And keep in mind here, some people are more sensitive than others.
If you absolutely love manicures,
the key is moderation, proper care, proper ventilation,
and giving your nails regular breaks to recover.
Think of it like any beauty practice,
safe when used mindfully. The brand Ohora Nails can be a
great alternative. For a lot of people,
these are gel-like press-on nails that cure a lot under a UV lamp,
but they don't require the same strong adhesives or filing down of the natural
nail that traditional gel or acrylic does.
Because they're less invasive and easier to remove,
they tend to be gentler on the nails and cuticles as well.
You still get the polished look without as much chemical exposure,
which makes them a solid option if you want a safer,
lower-maintenance manicure. I'll link their website in the- I
will link their website in the notes below if you want to check them
out. As always, whether you're using gel,
acrylic, or press-ons, it's important to listen to your nails,
give them time to breathe, make sure there's plenty of ventilation in the area,
and avoid overly harsh polish removers.
Balance is really key here. Okay,
last question for today was how do we maximize growth hormone and muscle growth
once gut health is stable? So once digestion and nutrient
absorption are optimized, your body is ready to build muscle and support
hormone function. Here's what I like to focus on.
First is protein intake.
Attiquette.
Adequate, high-quality protein supports muscle repair and growth.
This is absolutely essential.
Next is resistance training. Strength training signals your body to build and maintain
a muscle. Muscle tissue, but like I mentioned before you only want to add
this in once your body is stable if you struggle with chronic fatigue
or other hormone symptoms. I recommend starting out with walking,
pilates, yoga, and gentler forms of movement until your thyroid and muscle and
sex hormones are ready for more. Sleep is also huge here.
Growth hormone peaks during deep sleep,
so quality sleep is absolutely essential.
Stress management is another big piece.
Chronic stress suppresses growth hormones and can increase recovery.
And lastly, micronutrient support.
Minerals like magnesium, zinc,
and vitamin D especially. play key roles in hormone production and muscle
function. Overall, it all starts with gut health because your body can't utilize
nutrients. Once that foundation is strong,
these practices can help you optimize your growth
hormone and muscle growth naturally.
And just remember everything we're doing inside Rooted and Reawakened is already
helping you. to clear out toxins in the gut,
repair the gut lining, and set you up for long-term gut vitality.
Once you get to a point where you're your body metabolically is ready for
a little bit more stress load and you're ready to add in some resistance
training. That is going to come through in muscle testing and that is something
we can talk about in your check-ins as well.
All right, thank you so much for watching. Thank for tuning in today.
I hope this episode gave you some clarity,
support, and some practical tools to implement in your healing journey.
Remember, I'll see you in the Bye!
Bye!
I will more of your questions in the next episode.
Until then, be gentle with yourself, honor your body,
and remember, healing is a journey, not a race.
Bye bye!
