Hey loves,
welcome back to another episode of Rooted Radio.
I love these conversations because they're a chance to really connect around what's coming
up for you on your health journey, and also hear questions from other women
inside Rooted and Reawakened that you might not have necessarily heard of.
I'm always impressed by the depth of your topic suggestions,
so I just want to say I'm so proud of you all for staying
curious and wanting to learn more in a society that often tells us we
shouldn't ask too many questions about our health.
We should just take the doctor's order and be quiet.
I know I've heard that many times on my own healing journey.
So here's to empowering ourselves with the knowledge we need to not only heal,
but also to share this information with friends and loved ones.
All right, let's dive in, starting with a big question.
This is question that's been circulating lately around GLP-1 boosters and those
trendy supplements we keep seeing on social media.
Your question was, what do you think about all these GLP-1 booster supplements that
are coming out? Are they safe to try alongside our protocol?
This is a fantastic question. And one I'm getting a lot recently,
these supplements are definitely having their moment.
So first, what is GLP-1? GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide
1. It's a hormone made in the gut that helps regulate appetite,
blood sugar, and insulin. It's what medications like Ozempic and
Moonjaro mimic. Pharmaceutical GLP-1
agonists can be powerful,
but they often come with side effects, especially if used long-term or outside of
medical supervision. So, it makes sense that the supplement world is now trying to
offer a quote-unquote cleaner shortcut.
And, I totally get the appeal, it's tempting when you feel stuck or want
to a little motivational kick.
But, from a root cause healing lens,
we want to be mindful of anything that artificially boosts a certain,
But, from a root cause healing lens, we want to be mindful of anything
that artificially boosts a function your body can learn to do on its own.
Here's the holistic way we support GLP-1 production naturally,
and this is baked right into the rooted and reawakened framework.
First, we want to promote gut health. GLP-1 is made by certain cells in
your intestines, so we focus on microbiome-balanced,
fiber-rich foods, resistant starches,
literally feeding the cells that produce the GLP-1.
We're also working to clear toxins and pathogens that are preventing your gut from
producing GLP in the first place.
Also, blood sugar balance. Focus on protein,
healthy fats, and slowing down your meals to help keep insulin stable.
In terms of your circadian rhythm,
GLP-1 secretion follows a daily rhythm.
So, morning sunlight, movement,
and grounding rituals help to keep your circadian rhythm in
check. Stress regulation is also an important piece here.
Somatic practices, breathwork, daily nervous system rituals all reduce cortisol.
And high cortisol suppresses GLP-1.
As for interactions, things like bitters,
drainage herbs, and adaptogens often support GLP-1 indirectly.
But synthetic boosters like the colon broom version may actually blunt GLP your body's
natural signaling if used for too long.
And we just don't fully know how they impact the microbiome or your terrain
yet. So my advice, if you're curious,
you could definitely experiment with something like this for a short window,
maybe two to four weeks. But be mindful of how your body responds and
always layer it on top of the foundational work,
not in place of it. But ultimately remember that
no quick fix supplement will ever be more powerful than the work you're already
doing inside your body. I'm here to remind
you of that because I know it's hard
when you don't see results as quickly, but you're doing everything you need to
right now in order to support your metabolism.
Okay, your next question was, do you know any shampoos that help eliminate
dandruff permanently? I heard about Ketoconazole,
but I'd love a non-toxic option.
Yes, I love this question. So dandruff is usually a sign of a deeper
imbalance, commonly involving a yeast called malazesia,
scalp inflammation, or even sluggish lymphatic flow around your head and neck area.
So, while shampoos can help symptomatically,
long-term, long-term relief comes from healing the terrain,
which you're already doing inside this program.
But if you're looking for something cleaner in terms of shampoo,
I like the Avalon Organics Anti-Dandruff Shampoo.
It's made with tea tree and salicylic acid,
and it's totally well on the EWG Skin Deep list.
You can also support the lymphatic flow in your scalp,
which is often overlooked when it comes to dandruff.
Try a castor oil- One thing you can
try here is a castor oil scalp massage once a week.
Warm the oil slightly, massage your scalp gently for about five minutes with the
oil, then wrap your head in a warm towel to steam it for 15
to 20 minutes, then shampoo and rinse.
You can also add neck and shoulder dry brushing before your shower,
brushing towards your heart to support the flow of your lymph away from the
scalp. These subtle shifts can help clear stagnation and bring
more oxygen and nutrients to the scalp tissue.
Alright, next topic.
Can I combine things like dry brushing and sauna?
What's the best order for drainage support? Yes,
absolutely. This is such a common question and one I cover in depth inside
my new cleanse and flow drainage jumpstart program,
which you will all get free access to very soon.
So stay tuned. When layering detox and lymph supports like sauna,
dry brushing, or gua sha, the order isn't necessarily going to make or
break the benefits. But this is the rhythm I love.
Dry brush first. This activates lymph flow and opens up drainage channels
before your body starts releasing toxins through sweat.
Next, optionally, doing some gua sha.
This is especially helpful if you're focusing on the neck.
Jawline or face. Then do your sauna,
hot bath, or some movement because now your body is primed to sweat
and release toxins. And with hydration and binders if needed,
it's good to replenish minerals and binders.
And I stirred up especially if you did an intense sauna session.
After a sweat session, I really like to do an adrenal cocktail or take
a capsule or two of CT minerals from Cellcore for the fulvic minerals and
magnesium. And then if you're really sweaty,
you a capsule or two of one of Cellcore's binders is
good here. Biotoxin binder works well for this.
You can think of this like gently waking up your drainage pathways before asking
them to work harder. This flow supports deep sleep.
You can deeper detox without overwhelming your system.
Alright, on a similar note, your last question for today was what's the best
way to support your lymphatic system? Is it different depending on age or health?
The lymphatic system is like your body's internal system.
It doesn't have a pump like the heart.
It relies on movement and warmth to flow properly.
Regardless of age, everyone can benefit from daily movement like walking,
rebounding, yoga, breath work and diaphragmatic breathing,
hydration and mineral water. Dry brushing,
sauna, gua sha, and gentle liver support like enemas or castor oil packs.
What does change with age or health status is how intense or frequent these
practices should be. If someone's already inflamed,
hyperactive, or highly toxic or depleted,
we want to go much slower and gentler.
And that's why everything we do inside re- And
that's why everything we do inside Rootedin reawakens.
And in my upcoming Cleanse & Flow program is designed to be
titrated. If you're listening and feeling curious,
I'll be releasing Cleanse & Flow very soon.
It's my six-week jumpstart for opening drainage pathways and laying the soft foundation
for deeper detox. And as a current client,
you'll get free lifetime access as my thank you for being here.
You're already receiving custom protocols with the drainage supports I talk about inside
Cleanse & Flow, but this is a nice refresher,
and you can do this six-week protocol anytime after you conclude your six weeks
of Rooted & Reawakened program for an extra boost and to promote cellular
healing. Thank you, as always,
for all of your thoughtful questions. Keep them coming.
I love hearing about your curiosities and making this journey through.
I feel personal, grounded, and clear for you.
As always, I'm here with you every step of the way.
Have a run- Have a wonderful rest of
your day. Bye-bye.
