Hi there and welcome to another episode of the
Root Cause Clinic podcast. If you're at home listening,
grab a cup of tea or something warm and nourishing and settle in because
we have a ton of great topics for this episode.
So I am just going to jump straight into them today.
The first topic suggestion was your favorite herbs and teas.
So I am a huge fan of peppermint tea,
and I drink at least three cups per day,
so I'm very partial to this herbs.
specifically. Peppermint stimulates bile flow and digestive enzymes,
so it is amazing for digestion.
It also has strong antimicrobial properties and helps to maintain a
healthy gut microbiome. In terms of tea,
I also have love and recommend chamomile and lavender,
ginger, raspberry leaf is great for menstrual support,
and turmeric for its detoxification and anti-inflammatory properties.
One of my favorite ways to drink turmeric is in a cup.
which I make with about a teaspoon of organic
which I make with about a teaspoon of organic turmeric,
a sprinkle of cinnamon, and a dash of lemon black pepper in organic coconut
milk. One of my favorite sustainable and organic tea brands is
Mountain Rose Herbs, which I will go ahead and link below.
Okay, next question was, is it necessary to wear sunscreen and what products are
your favorite brands? This topic is a hotly debated one.
There's a lot of people, especially in the pro-metabolic space,
that say you shouldn't need to wear sunscreen,
but I don't really agree with this.
Yes, it's true that higher inflammation levels in the body make you more susceptible
to sunburn, but I still think it's important to protect your skin with
non-toxic sunscreen. So, when it comes to non-toxic sunscreen,
you want to look for mineral sunscreens without chemicals like oxybenzone
or parabens. Instead, you want to look for sunscreens with minerals like
zinc oxide and titanium dioxide,
which are non-nano, meaning they don't penetrate the skin.
And, because of this, they're also safer for the environment and the environment,
and a lot more sustainable. Some of my favorite mineral sunscreen brands
are Kinfield and Baebo Botanicals,
which I will go ahead and link in the notes.
Then, for face sunscreen,
I use the UR Sunshine series.
It's a from the brand Clear Stem.
Every single day, it's one of my all-time favorite skincare products,
and it doesn't cause acne like a lot of other facial sunscreens.
So I'll link that in the notes as well with my Clear Stem discount
code. Alright, your next question was,
is it necessary to wait to drink liquids until after eating a meal,
and how does this correlate with stomach acid levels?
When you eat, your stomach produces hydrochloric acid,
a.k.a. HCl, to break down food and aid in digestion.
The idea behind waiting to drink liquids is that consuming fluids,
especially larger amounts, might dilute stomach acid,
potentially impacting digestion. However, this isn't really a root cause,
and it's not going to be what makes or breaks your stomach acid levels.
There are much bigger fish to fry when it comes to healing your stomach
acid. Drinking small amounts of water during meals is usually fine,
and can easily be even support digestion by helping break down food and moving
it through your system. This is another scenario where we're really missing the forest
for the trees. This is a pretty minuscule detail.
What we really need to be focusing on is clearing parasites and other pests.
Other pathogens that are wreaking havoc on stomach acid,
remineralizing the body, decreasing chronic stress,
and following the body's lead with muscle testing in order to really repopulate
and rebalance stomach acid.
Ultimately, drinking some water with meals is not going to be what makes or
breaks your healing journey, so I don't want you to worry too much about
that. And that actually leads perfectly into the next
question, which was, Can you talk about how low stomach acid can affect our
health and what symptoms it can bring about?
Can you highlight the symptoms of low versus high stomach acid?
I feel like they seem so similar to me.
Yes, absolutely. So I call su- I
call stomach acid the fire of life.
When our stomach acid is depleted,
we can see a huge list of potentially related symptoms.
Our stomach acid is our first line of defense against pathogens.
When we swallow a pathogen, which happens all the time,
our stomach acid is ex- Our
stomach acid is supposed to burn it up and kill it off,
but nowadays, because of low nutrient intake,
chronic stomach stress and medications like proton pump inhibitors,
almost everyone has moderate to low stomach acid.
So, we're being overridden with pathogens like parasites because our body has absolutely
no defense mechanisms left to fight them off.
Most common symptoms of low stomach acid are nutrient deficiencies because
your body can't properly break down food,
bloating, and indigestion. Another common symptom is heartburn or acid
reflux, which most people think is high stomach acid.
But it's actually a sign your stomach acid is low and that food and
acid are kind of flowing back up into the esophagus.
Weak, brittle nails and hair, skin issues,
fatigue, and low immunity are all also secondary symptoms of low stomach acid
because they happen when your body can't assimilate and break down the nutrients you're
eating. The truth is,
high stomach acid is fairly uncommon.
Most people go to the doctor with reflux symptoms and actually have low stomach
acid. And then they're put on something like Tums or a proton pump inhibitor.
And then those medications ultimately deplete stomach acid even further.
So it's something that we really have to take on a case-by-case basis because
the solution will be different depending on the person and their health history.
Some people need to address pathogens or medications that are influencing stomach acid
production. Some people also benefit from adding in HCL capsules,
but again, it really depends on the person.
But I will say, in every client I've worked with who has obvious signs
of stomach acid imbalances,
it always resolves as long as we work through the layers of stress in
their body using energy work. We might not always have the answers cognitively,
but with energy testing, you'll always test strong.
for the supplements and supports that are going to heal your stomach lining and
stomach acid levels in the correct way.
All right, your next question was,
does motion sickness have a root cause?
Yes, so a lot of the time it has to do with imbalances in
the vestibular system, which is in your inner ear,
and controls your sense of balance and spatial orientation.
Sometimes this is due to sensory processing sensitivity,
where your brain is less able to filter and integrate sensory information.
correctly. Dehydration and low mineral stores can also
contribute to this. However,
one thing that doctors won't tell you is that people with digestive disorders,
like acid reflux or gastroparesis,
may be more prone to motion sickness and their digestive system
can be more sensitive to movement.
And then poor digestion or gut discomfort can exacerbate symptoms
when in motion. So for a lot of my clients who've struggled with this
in the past, I'm more so looking at.
How do we continue balancing out the gut and bringing safety to the GI
tract so it's not overly sensitive anymore?
And oftentimes, between healing the gut and remineralizing the body,
people find their motion sickness tends to improve naturally.
Okay, next question was,
what is your opinion on hydrogen water,
such as the HydroBottle?
I hear it can reduce inflammation.
Is it worth the hype? So,
for those of you who don't know, hydrogen water is water that has been
inflamed. Infused with molecular hydrogen.
The idea behind hydrogen water is that the,
this is, the idea behind
hydrogen water is that the, the dissolved molecular hydrogen has higher antioxidant
properties, which ultimately help to reduce inflammation in the body.
In all honesty, I haven't really jumped down the rabbit hole of hydrogen water,
but I have heard good things from people who have used it.
It's another one of those biohacks or health supports where it doesn't hurt to
try it, but it's often marketed as something that will heal you,
which I don't always agree with. We end up spending thousands of dollars on
all these fancy products, and wonder why we still have symptoms,
but we don't. And it's because we still have to fix our basic foundations
and address root causes, which takes time and can't really be fixed
by just one health support or product.
So all in all, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if you feel
drawn to it, but don't forget like it's the end-all be-all of your health
journey, if that makes sense. All right,
your last question for this episode was how long does it take for parasites
to overgrow in your body and can you take carboxy permanently?
When it comes to parasites, some of them have likely been in your body
since birth since many parasites can be transmitted in utero.
You've always had parasites and you always will because they're a natural part of
our biology. But like I always say,
it's only when they overgrow that they become a problem.
This is completely different depending on the person and the kind of parasite.
For example, tapeworm ova can take years to grow into a helmet that
is several feet long, whereas parasites like liver flukes reproduce
super quickly and can populate your into the thousands in just a few months.
Ultimately, our goal is to clear this overgrowth and heal your body to the
point where your immune system can kick in again,
take care of the rest of the overgrowth, and prevent future overgrowths and infections.
As for Carboxy,
which is Cellcor's strongest binder,
I don't recommend taking it permanently because it's so strong that you just don't
need to take it forever. Something a bit more gentle,
like their Biotoxin. Binder is better to pulse dose over time.
You can take one capsule per day for a few weeks,
then pause, then repeat. Binders are essentially the new multivitamin because
of the amount of toxins we're exposed to nowadays,
so it doesn't hurt to keep Biotoxin Binder on hand.
All right, that is all the topics for today.
Let me know in the community chat if you had any questions or thoughts
while listening. I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day,
and never forget your body was made to heal.
Bye-bye.
